Desperado

I saw this lame ad the other day. It's a smoke filled back room full of sleazy seeming criminal types playing poker, and the tag is that the men are all corrupt and also connected to the Casey campaign. It was low and stupid, and a desperate move by santorum to make casey seem corrupt. the problem with that is that none of the men alluded to is currently working for casey's campaign, one of the men depicted in the ad is actually dead, and he is actually linked to santorum. i shudder to think how much lower he'll sink as election day nears.

I coulnd't have said it any better.

We stand today on the 5th anniversary of one of the most terrible events most of us will hopefully ever live through or witness. I spent most of it avoiding every wanna-be-poigniant news reporter i could. i had no desire what-so-ever to relive the horror and agony of it with cnn's replaying the entire day as it happened because once was enough for me. Instead i am going to link to this post by driftglass
which says it all. Very beautifully too i might add. well done.

and this edition of the onion from the days immediately following 9/11/01, which is the only issue of the onion to ever make me cry, and which, I feel, reflects how we were all really feeling 5 years ago.

Hug your family.

We'll be greeted as liberators!!! YAY!!!

excerpt-"FORT EUSTIS -- Months before the United States invaded Iraq in 2003, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld forbade military strategists from developing plans for securing a post-war Iraq, the retiring commander of the Army Transportation Corps said Thursday.

In fact, said Brig. Gen. Mark Scheid, Rumsfeld said "he would fire the next person" who talked about the need for a post-war plan.
"

I feel so privliged to live in such an historical time. A time when we can witness first hand the screaming success of the stick-your-fingers-in-your-ears-and-say-LA-LA-LA approach to foreign policy. Thank god we got those Clintons out of the White House and put the "grown-ups" in charge.

Yet another reason that I love the British

i love the british-they really know how to give the people what they want!

From the MSNBC article-LONDON - A British television network plans to broadcast a dramatic, documentary-style film about a fictional assassination of U.S. President George W. Bush, the network’s head said Thursday.

The program uses actors and digital manipulation of real footage to show a fictional account of Bush being gunned down after delivering a speech in Chicago, Peter Dale, the head of More4, told a news conference.

“Death of a President,” also scheduled to be shown at the Toronto Film Festival in September, focuses on all those linked to the pretend crime — including nearby anti-war protesters, suspects, Secret Service guards and investigators, Dale said.

"The feel good movie of the summer"-Hepkitty

(PS-i know it's wrong to be so flip about the assassination of anyone-but it's just a frickin movie people and it's not like i've said anything that was any more inflamatory than the crap ann coulter spouts off on tv)

Mr. gone

Hey there. This is Tomkitty, Hepkitty's husband for those not in the know. I have been running this blog for about a year and a half as the Hepkitty dealt with other matters. I have decided to move it on over to my own blog, Tomkitty's Scratching Post (keeping with the cat based theme of course) in order to eliminate confusion as to who is posting what where.

No worries tho! Any good stuff I have posted over at the new place will be shared with all 5 of our readers over here. And rest assured, the Hepkitty is back to speaking out about the things important to all of us, and pointing out just what is wrong with this country, so check back for update from both Hepkitty and I soon!

Here is the new site:
